We’re celebrating the launch of Soul Fighter with a new mode, event, and skins! Plus we’re revamping our rune system and so much more! Welcome to Patch 4.3—The Fighting Spirit Update!

Welcome to Patch 4.3—The Fighting Spirit Update! We hope you’re ready for the fight of your life, because this patch we’re packing with some extra punch!

Ready to skip into the Baron Lane and rain terror on her foes is Nilah! She’s joining Wild Rift this patch and we’re sure she's going to bring lots of joy to all of your games, and help you whip your foes into shape! We also have a flurry of gameplay updates, including our revamp of the rune system, some changes to boot enchantments, as well as your regularly scheduled balance adjustments. We can’t wait to see all the new builds you concoct in the new rune system, so be sure to share your favorites with us!

All our fighters are geared up and ready for the legendary Tournament of Souls! We have new skins showing our fighters in their best fighting garb, a new event, promotion, gamemode and more! We can’t wait for you to hop into the action when the update goes live later today!

RANKED SEASON 10

Patch 4.3 is bringing with it the start of a new ranked season! Play games, reach your goals, and earn a brand new ranked skin along the way—Glorious Basilisk Jarvan! In addition to the new season and ranked skin, we also have made changes to the ranked system, added a new tier above challenger, and made some tweaks to Legendary Queue! TAG DUEL

We hope you’ve been training and are ready to duke it out, because Tag Duel is here! This is a 1v1 mode where the goal is for you to kill your opponent multiple times! With this new mode comes some new rules though:

  • You’ll get to select three champions and be able to swap between them during the game.
    • Swapping between champions will consume super meter charges.
    • The super meter charges automatically and can be seen at the top of the screen.
  • When you swap between champions, all your cooldowns are refunded.
  • All champions will auto-buy and auto-level up during the game.
  • All champions share a single health bar, once it’s depleted you’ll lose a life and all champions will respawn with full health and cooldowns.
  • This mode will take place in a small arena with no minions, so you can focus on the fighting!
  • And of course we had to add some proper theming to match Soul Fighter!

Tag Duel will be available on July 21 at 00:01 UTC until August 7

LUX

[HOTFIX] Since her rework, Lux has been over performing in the Mid and Baron Lane. To give her foes more possibi-light-ies to counter her, we’re making adjustments to her passive and second ability. These changes will also make Lux choose between protecting herself or protecting her teammates.

Illumination

  • Damage: 32 + Level × 8 + 25% Ability Power → 25 + Level × 7 + 25% Ability Power

Prismatic Barrier

  • Cooldown: 11/10/9/8s → 12/11/10/9s
  • Shield gained from first cast: 40/75/110/145 + 10% Ability Power → 30/55/80/105 + 15% Ability Power

ORNN

Ornn’s forged his way onto the Rift and his abilities have been too much for his foes to handle. So we’re nerfing some of his stats to make this demi-god less untouchable.

BELLOWS BREATH

  • Brittle: 7-21% Maximum health → 5-24% Maximum health

SORAKA

[HOTFIX] With the updates we made to runes and Soraka’s kit, her healing power and survivability is too strong. So, we’re making adjustments to bring her more in line with her fellow enchanters.

Soraka’s performance and how players have utilized her abilities hasn’t been optimal. So we’re making some adjustments to make her ap-peel-ing and perform better in games!

Starcall

  • [NEW]: Cooldown will be reduced when it hits enemy champions.

Astral Infusion

  • Cooldown: 5/4/3/2s → 6/5/4/3s
  • [NEW]: When healing allies, any over healing will be transferred as a shield
  • [REMOVED]: When casting Astral Infusion you’ll sacrifice a portion of your own health
  • [REMOVED]: Ally gains Rejuvenation from Soraka

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

RUNES

We’ve heard a lot of feedback that you all want more from runes, so we’ve re-designed the rune system to give you more options! We hope this new system gives you more room to explore runes and experiment your build paths on champions. And if you don’t want to experiment or cook up your own rune path, you can also choose to use the general guaranteeing minimum runes that we put at the first row at any time.

[NEW] GLACIAL AUGMENT

  • Attack slows enemy champions by 20% for 1.5 seconds. For the same champion, the slowdown triggers only once every 10 seconds.
  • Immobilizing an enemy will trigger 3 glacial rays to emanate from them towards you and this enemy champion, creating icy zones that last for 3 seconds.
  • Enemies in icy zones are slowed (1% bonus health of carrier +20%), and their damage is reduced by 15% against your allies. The slowdown effect will last for 1.5 seconds after leaving the icy zone. (20 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] FIRST STRIKE

  • In 0.25 seconds of entering a battle against enemy champions, damage caused on enemy will grant 5 gold and first strike effect lasting 3 seconds, which makes you deal bonus 9% true damage on enemy. After the effect, gold from the effect duration time will be granted (melee 100%/ ranged attack 85%). (20-13 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] LAST STAND

  • Extra 5-11% adaptive damage against enemy champions when health is lower than 60%.
  • Maximum bonus damage will be provided when health is lower than 30%.

[NEW] LEGEND: ALACRITY

  • Gain 3% Attack Speed; when engaging in taking down monsters, enemy champions and minions, up to bonus 20% at maximum stacks.

[NEW] LEGEND: TENACITY

  • Gain 3% tenacity and 3% slow resist, up to bonus 15% tenacity and 20% slow resist when engaging in taking down monsters, enemy champions and minions.

[NEW] LEGEND: BLOODLINE

  • Gain 1% omnivamp, up to bonus 7% of omnivamp when engaging in taking down monsters, enemy champions and minions.

[NEW] LEGEND: SHIELD BASH

  • After gaining shield or heal, the next attack against the enemy will be reinforced and deal bonus 5 - 30 + 20% Bonus Attack Damage +10% Adaptive Ability Power. (7 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] MARK OF THE WEAK

  • Using abilities to deal damage to enemies will mark them as weak, increasing damage taken by them by 4 - 7%, the mark disappears after they take ability damage 3 times or after 7 seconds have passed. (20 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] EMPOWERED ATTACK

  • Every 10 seconds, the next attack will be reinforced, dealing 35 - 50 bonus adaptive damage.

[NEW] CHEAP SHOT

  • Deals 10 - 45 bonus true damage to enemies whose movement is impaired. (7 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] EYEBALL COLLECTOR

  • Gains 0.5 Attack Damage or Ability Power when an enemy is taken down, up to 10 stacks, and gains a bonus 10 Attack Damage or 20 Ability Power reaching 10 stacks.

[NEW] INGENIOUS HUNTER

  • 20 Item ability haste. Gains a bonus 4 item ability haste when an enemy is taken down. Stacks up to 5 times.

[NEW] ZOMBIE WARD

  • After removing an enemy ward, spawns a zombie ward in its place, granting vision of the surrounding area for 120 seconds. Also gains 2 Attack Damage or 4 Ability Power. Stacks up to 5 times. Gives a bonus 10 Attack Damage or 20 Ability Power upon reading 5 stacks.

[NEW] COURAGE OF THE COLOSSUS

  • Gains a shield that absorbs up to 25-45+1% max health for 3 seconds when immobilizing an enemy. (10 seconds cooldown)

[NEW] REVITALIZE

  • Gains a 5% amplification effect when casting heal or shield. If the target’s health is lower than 40%, amplifies its effect by an additional 10%.

[NEW] OVERGROWTH

  • When 1 monster or 2 minions are taken down nearby, gains permanent 2 max health. Max health can be increased infinitely. Gains bonus 3.5% max health upon reaching 30 stacks.

[NEW] HEXTECH FLASTRAPTION

  • Replaces Flash with Hex Flash when the Flash spell is still on cooldown. You can blink to a new location after channeling for 3 seconds. (20 seconds of cooldown)

[NEW] ITEM CRAFTING

  • Gains a chance to buy 1 item outside of the fountain every 3 minutes but it will cost 150 bonus gold.

[NEW] COUP DE GRACE

  • When an enemy has less than 40% health, deals 7% bonus adaptive damage.

[NEW] FUTURE’S MARKET

  • You can purchase items on credit. Credit limit: 145+7/minutes. Credit purchase is available 2 minutes in game.

[NEW] NULLIFYING ORB

  • Shield: 60 + 50% bonus Attack Damage + 30% Ability Power → 60 - 190 (with level up)

FONT OF LIFE

  • Team heal: 6% Maximum health + 30% Ability Power → 3% Maximum health + 15% your Ability Power
  • Self heal: 2% Maximum health + 10% Ability Power → 1% Maximum health + 5% Ability Power

TRIUMPH

  • [OLD]: After participating in the defeat of an enemy champion, restore 10% of lost health, and deal an additional 5% damage to champions with less than 35% health → [NEW]: After participating in the defeat of an enemy champion, restore 10% of lost health, 10% of maximum mana and energy.

ITEMS

DUSKBLADE OF DRAKTHARR

Nightstalker:

  • [NEW]: First basic attack against an enemy champion causes 20 - 125 bonus physical damage and slows enemies by 99% for 0.25 seconds. Cooldown will be refreshed when an enemy has been taken down.
  • [REMOVED]: Being unseen for 1 second causes your next basic attack against a champion to deal 20 - 125 bonus physical damage and slows them by 99% for 0.25 seconds. Buff lasts for 5 seconds if you are in the view of one enemy, and ranged attacks do not slow enemies.

SUPPORT ITEM ADJUSTMENT

This patch we want to offer support players some more items and also make sure the build paths are smoother while also providing them more support during the laning phase. To do this, we’ll be adding a new support item: Ancient Coin, and adjusting the effects of Spectral Sickle and Relic Shield. We’re also accelerating the upgrading speed of the quest items and giving the advanced support items a sustaining growing effect. This will give supports the flexibility to choose their items depending on the champions they pick, their individual play styles, and their lane matchups.

ANCIENT COIN

  • Price: 500g
  • Stats:
    • 80 Health
    • 5 Ability haste
  • Passive:
    • Charge once per 30 seconds (max 3 charges). Every minion nearby taken down will grant 55 gold by consuming 1 charge, and regenerate 15-65 health. Champions equipped with Ancient Coin do not engage in minion bounty allocation and grant 50% of bounty solely, the bounty from minions taken down will be fully provided to the nearest ally. Grant only 50% gold from monsters.
  • Quest:
    • Transform to Talisman of Ascension after granting 500 gold.

SPECTRAL SICKLE

  • Price: 500g
  • Versatile:
    • Gain 10 attack damage or 20 ability power (adaptive)
  • Passive:
    • Gain 1 charge every 30 seconds (max 3 charges). When near an ally, damaging abilities and attacks against champions or structures grant 65 gold by consuming 1 charge and regenerate 20-80 health. Champions equipped with Spectral Sickle do not engage in minion bounty allocation and grant 50% of bounty solely, the bounty from minions taken down will be fully provided to the nearest ally. Grant only 50% gold from monsters.
  • Quest:
    • Transform to Black Mist Scythe after granting 500 gold.

RELIC SHIELD

  • Price: 500g
  • Stats:
    • 125 Health
  • Passive:
    • Gain 1 charge every 30 seconds (max 3 charges). When attacking minions, you consume 1 charge and execute minions below 65% health, granting full bounty to ally champions and bonus 65 gold to yourself and healing you for 20-80. Champions equipped with Relic Shield do not engage in minion bounty allocation and grant 50% of bounty solely, the bounty from minions taken down will be fully provided to the nearest ally. Grant only 50% gold from monsters.

This patch we’re also making adjustments to all of the boots and their build paths and prices to ensure that they are providing enough support during the earlier fights that may break out. We also are adding new boots that better suit mages, marksmen, and assassins, since there were not very good options for them. We’re also removing Protect Enchant, and adding a new passive enchantment for supports: Revival Enchant. We also felt like having active enchantments too early would cause a bit too much chaos in those early teamfights, so players can now only choose their active enchantment after 6 minutes in-game.

SYSTEMS

[NEW] TIME OF PURCHASING ENCHANTMENT IN STORE

  • Players can only purchase enchantment items in store after a certain period of time in game (6 minutes in Summoner‘s Rift).

[NEW] MECHANISM OF STRATEGIC POINT

We want to make sure that games are more fair and ensure that there isn’t a team that just gets steamrolled, so we’re implementing a new mechanic that will let players who are at a disadvantage have a chance to change the game state and bring their team back into it.

  • In the mid-game or late-game, when one team is at a disadvantage, strategic points will be provided to them, with which they can grant bonus bounty if points are seized.
  • If the gap is growing larger, the game will trigger a bonus kill bounty. Teams at a disadvantage will all share a small amount of bonus by taking down the enemy champion.

NEXUS SHIELD

Nexus shield is performing as we expected, but it's prolonging too many games. So, we’ve adjusted the end time of the Nexus shield mechanic.

  • End time of Nexus shield mechanism: 18 minutes → 16 minutes

SCRYER’S BLOOMS

We’ve optimized Scryer’s Blooms in base and adjusted their mechanism so that they provide more vision for players at a disadvantage, and also make them smoother to use.

  • Fixed directions of base Scryer’s Blooms, attack from any angle will only make them grant vision of a corresponding jungle.
  • Scryer’s Blooms will immediately die when attacked by the enemy, without any vision effect.
  • Expanded the vision of Scryer’s Blooms on its tail part thus they could grant vision of dragons’ pits.
