Discover the Cosmic Event

In the Time & Tide update, players in China and on the Southeast Asian shard will get to play a new event based around the Cosmic skin thematic, as well as pick up Cosmic skins for Master Yi and Lulu. We wanted to provide a bit more transparency behind the event design and some of the new additions you can expect to see!

Part of our events strategy for 2021 was to create special moments and focus on rewarding players for their time spent in the game. We think these have been pretty successful, and we’ll continue to do this in the future! However, we recognize that players across the world can enjoy different aspects of events that we’re currently not delivering on. That’s why we’re working on new mechanics of all sizes, from more complex systems like the yummy Lunar Banquet, to simpler events like Name That Champion. With Cosmic, we’re looking to give you more ways to earn and purchase content.

So, how does the Cosmic Event work?

During the event, you’ll earn or purchase Cosmic Tickets, each of which provide you two things: a randomized roll and a Cosmic Token. In addition to purchasing tickets, you will also be able to earn up to ten free tickets by playing games and completing missions. With a roll, you can try your luck at picking up some of the accessories or the skins themselves, but we want to make sure that even if you don’t get lucky, you still have a way to get what you want. That’s where Tokens come in.

As you earn or purchase Tokens, you’ll be able to pick up any of the themed accessories and skins from the event. We designed it this way because while we think highrolling into your favourite skin can be fun, having multiple paths to get what you want is also important!

So we’ll address this head on: yes, we’re introducing lucky roll mechanics to our events toolbox. We recognize this kind of event might not be for everyone, but this is just one of the new ways we are experimenting with how you can earn and purchase content. We’re also committing that we will never offer content that impacts your gameplay behind these systems, and that any time or monetary investment you make in Wild Rift is positively repaid.
