Champion Roadmap 2026

Hello fellow detectives. 2026 is underway, and we’ve almost completed our first patch for the year. While you all have been busy climbing the ladder, besting your friends in AAA ARAM, and spending time with your companions, we’ve been hard at work. A highly sensitive case file has come across my desk, top secret stuff. To be honest, I was shocked when I opened it up, because inside there were four exhibits. Each giving different clues about some rumblings of what might be happening to our Rift. I am definitely going to get in trouble even bringing this up with you all, but I’m desperate. I have no clue what any of this means and it’s keeping me up at all hours of the night. I need your help. Please take a look ASAP.

CASE FILE: Wild Rift 2026 Champion Roster Investigation
STATUS: On-going investigation, multiple prime suspects

Exhibit A: Crystal Clear

Evidence Collected:

• Seismic activity logged beneath key jungle corridors.

• A full operational rework completed elsewhere.

Profile:

• Massive presence.

• Identity recently updated.

• Thrives in tight spaces.

Motive: 

• Wild Rift could always use a new tank…so that could be the reason why the dev team wanted to bring this champion over.

Current Conclusion: 

• If you feel the Rift shaking beneath your feet, or the path to victory seems crystal clear, you might be ready for this creature to shake things up.

Exhibit B: Escalating Appetite

Evidence Collected:

• Community requests have reached critical mass for this champion over the years, one might even say that demand has been spiking. Especially when monsters are brought into the conversation. 

• Documents left on desks from the dev team show that they have a refined palette and know exactly what they want to bring to the Rift.

Profile:

• The longer this case continues, the stronger they can become. 

• Each team fight is just one course of the full meal you’ll experience over the course of the game.  

• Begins manageable, ends monumental.

Motive: 

• We have assassins, we have terrifying scarecrows, but we don’t have anything that fully takes over your screen…

Current Conclusion: 

• The dev team knows our appetite has been building, but are we really ready for the feast that will occur when this suspect takes a seat at the table?

Exhibit C: The Curator of Catastrophe

Evidence Collected:

• The abilities and what you can do with them are quite complex. 

• Unique casting patterns and combos, something that has not yet been seen on our Rift to date. 

• High skill ceiling, will require you to prime, mix, and apply your skills before trying this champion out.

Profile:

• Can manipulate combat with a stroke of a finger. 

• Mechanical precision. 

• Will leave your opponents feeling outmatched.

Motive: 

• The dev team knows how much you all love to style on your foes with flashy plays. It would make sense for them to draft this suspect up for release.

Current Conclusion: 

• If this suspect does appear, one thing is for sure it won’t shake up the Rift like some of the other suspects. No… let’s be real they would completely re-imagine the Rift.

Exhibit D: Borrowed Authority

Evidence Collected:

• Historically, this champion has been known to shake up the meta. 

• Chaos is a guarantee, you can’t chain this one down. 

Profile:

• Turns foes strengths into their own team’s advantage. 

• Prefers facing stronger opponents… bring on the challenge, they might just be able to take advantage of it. 

• Flips the script. 

Motive: 

• We have a lot of flashy abilities on the Rift, I mean look at one of our latest additions, Norra. So it would make sense for the team to want to add someone that is not only flashy but can completely change how fights are played out. 

Current Conclusion: 

• Things on the Rift have felt… structured lately. Too orderly, too predictable. But are we ready for what happens when someone joins the Rift and decides the rules were only ever suggestions?

Well detectives, that's all the evidence that was presented to me in the case folder. I hope you can lend me, because I am still left scratching my head at what these clues could even mean. Regardless, we’ll know throughout this year who these suspects really are, but for now I must bid you adieu and wish you luck on cracking this case.
