Regional Closed Beta

Wild Rift is headed to its first Regional Closed Beta, starting with regions in Southeast Asia!

League of Legends: Wild Rift is headed to its first Regional Closed Beta, starting September 15!

In the first Regional Closed Beta, we’re coming to select players in the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.

We’ll be rolling out to each region over time and adding waves of players throughout the Closed Beta, so keep an eye on your local Wild Rift social media pages to get the latest updates!

What’s the schedule?

  • September 15: Indonesia (testing with a very small number of invites)
  • September 17: Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand
  • Early October: Closed Beta pauses for a few days, and accounts are fully reset

(All other regions will be coming later.)

The Regional Closed Beta will primarily be on Android, but players can head over to the Wild Rift website to sign up for a chance to enter a small test on iOS alongside the Closed Beta. If you’re selected, you’ll get an email with further instructions.

Check out our latest /dev diary for what features you can expect if you’re selected to join!

So back up—what’s a Regional Closed Beta?

Following on from the Regional Alpha, we’ll be expanding our range of features and inviting new regions, so we can get feedback from a bunch more players. The Regional Closed Beta is still, well, “closed”, so not everyone will get to help us test this time, but we’re still eager to roll the game out to a lot more players than ever before!

What are you testing?

In the Regional Alpha a few months ago, we were mostly focused on our core gameplay systems; now we want to test a lot more! You can expect to see upgrades to progression, leveling, and balance as we move forward, and have a look through the Closed Beta balance patch notes to see what’s changed in the last couple of months.

How do I get in?

We’re going to be randomly selecting from players who have pre-registered for Wild Rift on Google Play! We’ll be inviting more players as the test goes on, so keep an eye on the Play Store. You might also see some content creators invited early on, so even if you don’t get in on day one, you can watch some big plays while you’re waiting. Reminder: Once invited, you’ll need to log in with the same Google account you pre-registered with.

For iOS players, you’ll want to head to wildrift.leagueoflegends.com and follow the instructions there if you’d like to take part in the small iOS test running alongside the Closed Beta.

When does this Regional Closed Beta end?

We’ll have more information on this a bit later, but you can expect the Closed Beta to run for a few weeks.

Why did you pick these regions?

We’re going region by region for our Closed Beta to make sure we’re prioritizing stability before moving to the next. Most of the regions in this test are geographically fairly close to one another, so we can focus on scale testing a smaller group of servers.

Will other regions get a Closed Beta?

We’ll be sharing more information about this over the coming months!

I was in the Philippines Alpha test… do I get in automatically?

Yes! You should be eligible to play starting September 17.

My skills are top tier, but my phone isn’t—what are the minimum device specs?

We care a lot about bringing the minimum spec down while not compromising on Wild Rift’s core gameplay, so we’ll always be looking to optimize for as many devices as we can.

Android

  • CPU: 4-core, 1.5 Ghz and above (32-Bit or 64-bit)
  • RAM: 1.5G
  • Resolution: 1280x720

iOS

  • iPhone 7

If I get in, can I talk about the game? Can I record or stream stuff?

Yup! No NDA needed. If you make any videos, art, or cosplay though, we really wanna see ’em.

What does the account reset in October mean?

We’ll be resetting all progress, levels, ranks, purchases and currency, but any Wild Core purchases you make (that’s Wild Rift’s version of RP!) will be returned after the reset with a 20% bonus as a thank you for helping us test some of the game’s new content.

What about if I encounter bugs or need to contact Player Support for something?
