RIOT GAMES SOUTHEAST ASIA ANNOUNCES 2021 LEAGUE OF LEGENDS: WILD RIFT SOUTHEAST ASIA ICON SERIES SUMMER SEASON

Eight weeks of Summer tournaments delivering high stakes, exciting matches and showcasing top talent in the League of Legends: Wild Rift esports scene

Riot Games Southeast Asia today announced the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia (SEA) Icon Series Summer Season will kick off on April 3rd, following the five weekend-long regional Preseason for its competitive mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MMOBA) - League of Legends: Wild Rift.

The Wild Rift SEA Icon Series will be the first tournament produced by Riot Games Southeast Asia in partnership with our regional partners, and will be an important foundational step to establishing the regional legacy Southeast Asian players and teams can bring to the global mobile MOBA esports scene.

From February to the end of March and across seven location-specific tournament circuits, teams across Southeast Asia have been competing for the title of local Wild Rift Preseason champions. With the start of the Summer Season, these top teams will compete over a two month period before the victors meet for the Summer Super Cup, where the best players and teams from each competing locale will be crowned.

“We’ve had an exciting preseason for the League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia Icon Series, during which we’ve seen some show-stopping performances from our invited teams,” says Chris Tran, Head of Esports for Riot Games Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. “We look forward to cheering these top regional talents on and we invite all Wild Rift fans to cheer their favourite teams on as they continue their journey this Summer.”
