Patch 7.2 Champion Release Update
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to share some of what we’ve been cooking up for Patch 7.2, which is right around the corner. Before we share our full Patch Preview and take a deeper look at everything coming in the update, we wanted to talk about one change you may notice right away.
For Patch 7.2, we’ll be releasing two champions. Since 7.2 has a shorter update cycle than usual, lasting around two months instead of our typical three month cadence, we’ve adjusted the overall scope of the patch accordingly. Even with a shorter cycle, we still have a lot of exciting content planned, including one highly requested update, Ahri’s ASU, that we can’t wait to tell you more about in our upcoming Patch Preview.
As we look beyond 7.2, we also want to share a bit about how we’re thinking about champion content moving forward. While new champions will always be an important part of Wild Rift, they’re only one way we can invest in the roster. Going forward, our goal is to deliver a broader mix of champion-focused content, including new champion releases, visual and gameplay updates, and other ways to refresh and improve the champions you already love to play. This will give us more opportunities to invest across the roster while continuing to bring new faces to Wild Rift. You’ll start to see more of that philosophy reflected in future updates, and we’ll share more information with you about that at the end of the year, in our year-end letter.
Speaking of future updates, Patch 7.3 is shaping up to be one of our biggest updates yet, packed with plenty of new content and surprises. We’re not ready to reveal everything justtttt yet, but we can give you a small hint about one of the champions arriving in that patch. Take another look at the Champion Roadmap we shared earlier this year and see if you can figure out which one of our suspects might be making an appearance.
That’s all from us for now. We’ll see you back on June 24 for our Patch 7.2 Preview!
